The economy has stalled in our country .
Inevitable consequence of wrong choices.
In the Italian economy, something has gone wrong, despite the bombastic social announcements about the "new economic miracle of the right," which were promptly denied. The data are causing concern among economists, and with the imminent arrival of a maneuver which, although announced as triumphal, now risks putting an end to the Centre-Right's dreams of glory, this concern is further accentuated by the observation of the facts. This is made clear above all by the new confederal secretary of the CGIL Veneto, Christian Ferrari, who, speaking of the latest ISTAT data on GDP, explained that the slowdown recorded in the second quarter "is very bad news for the Italian economy."
According to Ferrari, "the main cause is the compression of internal demand, a direct consequence of the choices of the government which has done little or nothing to support wages and incomes, despite an inflation which, although decreasing, remains too high, especially as It's about the shopping cart." He adds: "If we add an increasingly bogged down PNRR and the absence of any industrial policy, we immediately realize the inevitability of what is happening. In this context, the cut in anti-poverty measures, starting from the citizen's income , not only exacerbates an already dramatic social issue, but will also be counterproductive for the growth of the country itself," concludes the trade unionist.
Massimiliano Dona, president of the National Consumers Union, also maintains that "the drop in GDP is alarming. The risk of a technical recession is imminent. If we manage to avoid this scenario and not go through that tunnel, it will only be thanks to the Italians' holidays in third quarter, which will act as a driving force for the resumption of services."
President Conte declares: "Until today, Meloni has boasted about the growth of the GDP, which in reality has literally collapsed due to the inertia and inability of the Government, which is squandering the growth legacy of almost 11% in the two-year period 2021-2022." Conte underlines how the growth that Prime Minister Meloni has boasted of so far is actually "the result of the measures in which I invested when I was in Government, measures that this Government has cancelled, cut and demonised."
